Name Game
Say your dog's name at random times. When it looks at you, reward it. Do this a lot, in easy places first. The name should mean "look at me."
Eye Contact
Ask for eye contact before and after every command. A sit with eye contact is worth more than a sit while your dog looks at the squirrel.
Feed Meals on Walks
A walk is not for greeting strangers or other dogs. Bring the food and reward your dog for paying attention to you. You are building value in yourself, right?
Crate, Place, or Leash
At home, your dog is in one of three spots: crate, place bed, or on leash with you. No free roaming while it is still learning.
